This rustic Raku jug stands 8" tall. It was thrown out of red clay and then glazed with a matte copper raku glaze before firing to 1700 degrees. At the red hot stage, it is removed from the kiln, allowed to quickly oxidize in the cool air, and then submerged into a bucket to catch fire, before the flames are capped and deprived of oxygen, creating the variation in colors and texture across the surface.
